It would be so stinking awesome to have a real video camera that shoots film like a DSLR. Specifically, has a shallow dept of field so that I can blur the background behind my subject. I love this effect, but there are too many trade offs and complications when using any of the current DSLRs for recording video. Well, the camera to solve these problems has finally arrived. The Canon Vixia HF G10. Beautiful depth of field effect with a nice big focus ring to make sure it is nice and smooth, powerful audio recording capabilities, SD cards, plenty of zoom, stability control, light weight… I can’t wait until SJM can afford this.
